Our friends and honey experts @ Manoufia Honey are offering us this raw, unheated , unfiltered and unprocessed honey that is packed directly from their beehives there. Bees are fed on flower nectar and pollen and they not given any chemicals, antibiotics or growth enhancers.  Bees are healed with herbal infusions like cardamom and cumin. Beehives are located in delta away from plantations that use pesticides.  

But, why you should only choose raw honey?

Raw honey is the most original sweet liquid that honeybees produce from the concentrated nectar of flowers. Collected straight from the extractor; it is totally unheated, unpasteurized, unprocessed honey. This is the most important characteristic and health benefit of the final product, as it preserves all the natural vitamins, enzymes, phytonutrients and other nutritional elements. True raw honey is quite different from processed, commercial honey for these main reasons. Raw foodists loves honey for its exceptional nutritional value and its amylase, an enzyme concentrated in flower pollen which helps predigest starchy foods.

"Commercial" regular honey on the other hand, has been pasteurized (heated at 70 degrees Celsius or more, followed by rapid cooling) for easy filtering and bottling so that it looks cleaner and smoother, more appealing on the shelf, and easier to handle and package. Pasteurization kills any yeast cell in the honey and prevents fermentation, which is a concern for storing honey with high moisture content over a long period especially in warm weather like Egypt. When honey is heated, its delicate aromas, yeast and enzymes which are responsible for activating vitamins and minerals in the body system are destroyed.
